The FDIC is still having significant problems throughout the U.S. with counterfeit official checks and counterfeit cashier’s checks.   If you’re accepting these checks as a method of payment from any of your customers or others that you do business with, make sure that you take precautionary steps to protect yourself against losses in the event that a check doesn’t clear.
